Collide (Blackcreek Series #1) by Riley Hart

At ten years old, Noah Jameson and Cooper Bradshaw collided mid-air when they dove for the same football. For three years, they were inseparable…until one day when Noah and his parents disappeared in the middle of the night.

Noah and Cooper never knew what happened to each other. Now, seventeen years later, after finding his boyfriend in bed with another man, Noah returns to Blackcreek looking for a fresh start. And damned if he doesn't find his old friend grew up to be sexy as sin. Coop can’t believe Noah—the only person he trusted with the guilt over his parents’ death—is back. And gay… Or that Cooper himself suddenly wants another man in his bed for the first time.

There’s no denying the attraction and emotion between them, but can they overcome the ghosts of their pasts to have a future together?

This title contains two strong, sexy men, and a passionate friendship that transforms into a sizzling hot romance

"You don't mind sharing a house with a gay man?"

My first Riley Hart novel, man, oh, man (haha) was I in for a treat!  Noah and Coop are HAWT together!  Best friends since they were 10 years old,  and one day Noah and his family up and leave Blackcreek Colorado, leaving Coop without saying goodbye.  Fast forward 17 years.....Noah founds his lover/boyfriend in bed with another man.  Noah sets out driving (in a '69 Ford Mustang) back to Blackcreek and collides quite literally into Coop.  You can feel to instant sexual tension between Noah and Cooper, while they are "roomies" sharing Cooper's new house.  I really loved the story line and the author did a great job with the plot and the characters. Could have shortened the flashbacks a little but a very good start for a promising gay-for-you author.  Just love reading about a "straight" men "Corruption".

"You cold or happy to see me?" he teased Noah.
"Fuck you.  They're piercings."
Holy Shit!
"You have your nipples pierced? Didn't that hurt?"
"Like a motherfucker.  The guys like it though." Noah winked at him.

I give Collide ★★★★ corrupting STARS!!!

Try by Ella Frank

Pleasure Fucking Overload

Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?

And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.

Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.

As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?

Meet Logan Mitchell

Meet Tate Morrison

"God, from the minute we met, you’ve been nothing but pure fucking temptation for me" Logan Mitchell

The easiest ★★★★★'s Ever

How can I explain how I felt reading this book?  Can anyone explain sponteous combustion?  Because that is what I felt constantly through the whole damn book.  From page 3 I was enchanted with the player Logan, instantly fell in love with one line  "Batter up! I want to play with some balls."  Ella Frank has taken a real gamble on stepping into a new genre, M/M with in my honest option is the best genre today.  Damn if she doesn't come up with "snake eyes", this is her best book to date IMO.  The title could not have been better named, because this book was all about trying.  It is about finding yourself, losing yourself and bettering yourself.    We meet Logan Mitchell from the start,  on an airplane "For the admission price of $543.90, was inducted into the exclusive Mile High Club, and it was worth every last penny"

So when Logan walks into his favorite after hours bar, we find that our "player" is actually bi-sexual, and when he lays eyes on the new "straight" bartender Tate Morrison it was instant #I'mgoingtotaptakeandsoon lust.  But Tate see's Logan as the player that he is and calls him out on his conquests, and Logan being the smartass talker he is responds
"That I like to fuck, and that I’ve slept with almost all of the women and a couple of the guys you work with.  And just so you don’t worry about them, they all thanked me afterward."  BAM I fucking love Logan!!!!!  This book is riddled with some of the best quotes and come backs that I have ever had the pleasure of reading.  Here is just a few of my 66 Kindle highlights:

"Does every word that comes out of mouth have to do with sex?   Usually, eighty/twenty, but with you it seems more like ninety-eight/two"

"You’re welcome to try, but unless something’s shoved in my mouth, I have to tell you, it’s next to impossible to ever shut me up"

"You can look all you like-in there.  Now, invite me into your bed, Tate.  You need an invitation?  I want one.  I want you to invite into your bed."

"You make me want things that I’d forgotten I wanted"

"So….what’s your truth, Logan?    I think you are."

"Stay?  Yes
Good, I want you to stay
Then, I’ll stay"

***Fanning my self***,  I could go on with Ella's dialogue,  to put simply this was the hottest book I have ever read, in ANY genre.  I look forward to next summer when I can get my hands back on my "boys" in Take.  This book made me laugh, made cry, and made want the throttle Logan multiple times through out it.

Brokenhearted (Hope Cove #1) by Cate Ashwood

My emotions overload because there is no hand to hold, there’s no shoulder here to lean on; I’m walking all on my own.”
― Christina Aguilera,

Hope Cove: Book One

Oliver Parrish has been alone in the world since he was born. So when Sheriff Owen “Mack” Macklin shows up on his doorstep to deliver the news that Oliver’s sister has died, he’s beyond surprised. Still, Oliver returns with Mack to Hope Cove, Maine, hoping to get to know the sister he never knew he had. As he tries to snap these new elements into his solitary life, he’s not sure how they might fit.

His life is shaken up further as he falls in love with the irresistible town of Hope Cove, and with Mack, its equally irresistible sheriff. But when he receives devastating news about his sister's cause of death, Oliver doesn't know whether to stay and fight for love and a good life, or cut his losses and run.

"There is no peace, though, is there?  Rest in Peace is one big fucking cosmic joke, because you're gone and everyone else is left to pick up the goddamn broken pieces that shattered all over the fucking place."

This book absolutely blew me away!  When I read the blurb, I went in with some skepticism.  This is the first book I have read by +Cate Ashwood, but I can tell you this will not be the last.  Her Oliver is one of the best characters that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting,  Beautiful, lonely and sweet man/boy who has never received a break in his life, founds that he has a sister.  The bad thing is that she has passed away living him her estate, that includes her bakery and apartment.   her bestfriend since 4th grade, Mack goes to Seattle to find Oliver and tell him the news about Maggie. This book is about the road not travelled,  finding yourself and how love can conquer anything no matter what the odds.  I laughed and I cried ugly tears for Oliver.  So don't miss your opportunity to visit Hope Cove, Maine.

I give "Brokenhearted"

Long Time Gone by SE Jakes

Long Time Gone by Se Jakes

(Hell or High Water #2)

When a tornado meets a volcano, nothing is safe.

Soldier of fortune Prophet Drews always worked alone—until Tom Boudreaux became his partner. But when Tom walked away three months ago, ostensibly to keep Prophet safe, Prophet learned the true meaning of being alone. Everyone knows that Prophet, a Navy SEAL turned CIA spook turned mercenary, can look after himself. Which means he must’ve driven his lover away.

Even with half a world between them, Prophet can’t get the man out of his head. Maybe that’s why he’s in New Orleans in the middle of a hurricane, protecting Tom’s aunt. But the only looter around is Tom, bursting back into Prophet’s life. It turns out that Prophet’s been stuck in Tom’s head—and heart—too.

Their explosive reunion gets even hotter when Tom is arrested for murder. As they fight to clear his name, they delve deep into his past, finding enemies among everyone they meet. Staying alive in such a dangerous world is hard enough, but they soon discover that fighting to stay together is the most difficult thing they’ve ever done

This book picks up after the cliffhanger from "Catch A Ghost", we learn about broken Elijah "Prophet" Drews introduced to us in "Free Falling" we get a cameo from Mick and Blue.  Four months after Tom walked away from Prophet, four months of working with the partner that HE chose for himself, Tom founds that he is missing "the bad luck breaker" from his past.  For those months he has sent emails, every night to the one man he could not chose to be his partner.  Every damn night he writes Prophet,  hoping that they are being read.  The last one states he is worried about his Aunt Della in New Orleans with an approaching Hurricane,  knowing that she is too stubborn to leave.
Prophet driving to be closer to Tom, reads his emails and decides he will head to NOLA to help Aunt Della.
Tom also worried, ends up in New Orleans and this city has never seen so much heat.  These two broken, hot alpha Black Ops agents is like throwing gasoline on a fire, no can feel the heat coming from every glance, every touch.  ****panty melting**  This book answers all of Tom's past, why he left the bayou,  all his secrets laid bare for Prophet to see,  if Tom was waiting for Proph to high tail and run he was so WRONG.  The feeling that these two expressed with just a touch, a glance is just amazing.  @SeJakes has this ability to place characters with such "brokeness" together that brings all the greatness of a telling a story.  I loved this story, really hoping to get Prophets complete story, but I feel like this will continue within the next books.  "Dirty Deeds"  will feature Cillian and Mal.

I give this book ★★★★'s

If Only (Masters of the Shadowlands #8) by Cherise Sinclair

Shock & Awe (A Sidewinder Story) by Abigail Roux

Shock & Awe by Abigail Roux

(A Sidewinder Story)

"Does this mean I get to say I love you and you have to say it back?"

After barely surviving a shootout in New Orleans, Sidewinder medic Kelly Abbott has to suffer through a month of recovery before he can return home to Colorado. He’s not surprised when fellow Sidewinder Nick O’Flaherty stays with him in New Orleans. Nor is he surprised when Nick travels home with him to help him get back on his feet—after all, years on the same Marine Force Recon team bonded the men in ways that only bleeding for a brother can. He’s very surprised, though, when Nick humors his moment of curiosity and kisses him.

Nick knows all of Kelly’s quirks and caprices, so the kiss was a low-risk move on his part . . . or so he thought. But what should’ve been a simple moment unleashes a flood of confusing emotions and urges that neither man is prepared to address.

"Do you believe me when I say I want the D?"

"If I beg, will you shove that into me?"

Now, Kelly and Nick must figure out what they mean to each other—friends and brothers in arms, or something even deeper?—before the past can come back to ruin their tenuous future

To clarify things I am a huge Cut & Run fan,  and this story picks up were Touch & Geaux left us in New Orleans.  In the previous books I have had issues with Nick O'Flaherty simply because he was in love with my Ty Brady and the only man for Ty is Zane Garrett.  This is a wonderful written story as always, that changes focus to Kelly Abbott and Nick.  This side of Nick we have not seen,  the best friend, the protector and the possible lover for Kelly.  From their first kiss to their baby steps into a real relationship is a wonderful journey that only Abigail can tell.  At the end of Shock & Awe Ms. Roux changed my mind about "O" and I'm really glad she did.

I give this book a rating of  ★★★★1/2's

Can't wait for Bait & Switch coming in 2014!

A Righteous Kill by Kerrigan Byrne

A Righteous Kill by Kerrigan Byrne

   A Shakespearean Suspense

“’Tis one thing to be tempted, another thing to fall.”
~William Shakespeare, Measure for Measure.

 He’s no stranger to sin…

A prolific serial killer is crucifying and ‘baptizing’ the working girls of Portland, and FBI Special Agent Luca Ramirez is locked in a desperate race to prevent the next casualty. The game changes when the latest victim is pulled out of the Willamette River alive, and Luca knows this witness may be his key to breaking the case. When the fanatical killer threatens her life a second time, Luca is assigned to protect the most unique and captivating woman he’s ever met by going undercover as her lover. He finds himself locked in a relentless game of cat and mouse with an elusive and violent psychopath, while battling his temptation for the alluring woman he’s charged to protect with his life. As the fatalities continue to mount, so does the intensity of his desire for a woman who should be forbidden, but is determined to dial up the heat.

Bestselling author Kerrigan Byrne laces dangerous, edgy content with palette-cleansing humor in this sexy, character-driven series debut that will leave you wondering… Is there such a thing as A Righteous Kill?

Portland Oregon has a very active serial killer known as "John the Baptist", his victims have all been red haired prostitutes, then he nails their hands to a cross and piercing their sides with an antique Roman sword.  Then he wraps them in Catholic Robes and completes their baptism by dumping them in the Williamette River.  But he fails to complete Hero's baptism when she refuses to die.  Enter Special Agent Ramirez who has been trailing our killer after 6 kills.

This book is wonderfully detailed, you "see" what the author describes in great detail,   my favorite thing about the book is the Shakespearean quotes to "guide" to through each chapter.  Also, Agent Ramirez' obsession with designer shoes, Bruno Magli Boots and Cole Haan full his shoe collection.
Your heroine named Hero Viola Katrova-Conner comes with a very huge family "Knocks, Brown, Rohm, Dim Tree, Dra, Pop and Mmph"  which translates into FBI agent brother Rown, Navy Seal brother Knox, bad boy motorcyclist Dimtri, and ADA Timandra,  looking forward to the next books in the series.

"I'll follow you and make a heaven out of the hell, and I'll die, die by your hand which I love so well."  William Shakespeare
I give this book 4 ★'s

Unforgiven by Elizabeth Finn

Unforgiven by Elizabeth Finn

"You don't fall in love with the person responsible for your greatest loss.  And God help you if you do."

 A mistake made long ago…

Pain buried so deep…

When Bailey Trent returns home to her small little Ozark mountain town after being away for nearly six years, she knows she’ll face the ghosts of her past. It does not mean she’s prepared to come face to face with the cruelest of those memories.

Darren Cory’s life is a shell of what it once was, and when he’s forced to endure the cause of his agony, hatred abounds quickly. But hating Bailey destroys him too.

Can Darren find a way to move past the pain and forgive the woman he once cared so much for before his anger consumes them both? Or will he drag them into the hell of an unforgiven past.

for·give
fərˈgiv/
verb
1.
stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake.
Let's play a game;  I will start, anguish, saddest, tragedy and compassion.
"She could not cry in front of this man.  Not because he didn't deserve her tears, but because this version of Darren she'd known for more years than could recall wouldn't let her off easy with that emotion."
This book ripped me a part, from the first page I knew this was going to be an emotional ride.  My first view of  Dr. Darren Cory had me thinking "What an asshole and a Doctor?  Has he forgotten his oath 'DO NO HARM'?"  Our story starts in the present but moves back and forth through 6 years of time,  it keeps you in suspense for the first 5 or 6 chapters of what caused so much unforgiving and hate.
"I hate you.  Do you understand me?  Your apology means shit to me."  Darren speaking to his sister's best friend Bailey.

Get ready to have your heart strings pulled and to become emotionally invested in this story because Elizabeth Finn draws you in and NEVER lets you go with her story about 4 friends that have to deal with tragedy and separation.  This book is not your classic love story, it deals with tragic deaths and the aftermath in how it shapes how the people left behind deals with tragedy.  Make sure you have the tissues handy because believe me you will need them.  You will be hoping that your children make good choices when trying to establish themselves as adults.

Full Double by Kindle Alexander

"I’m willing to spend the rest of my life showing you how much you mean to me. I’ll work every single day to be the man you deserve, but let me make love to you tonight. Let me know what it’s like to feel you again. Please."

I have to say I love M/M books and Kindle Alexander has the hottest, sexiest men in this genre.

Up and coming football hero, Colton Michaels, makes a Hail Mary pass one night in the college locker room that results in the hottest, sexiest five days of his young life. However, interference after the play has him hiding his past and burying his future in the bottom of a bottle. While Colt seems to have it all, looks can be deceiving, especially when you’re trapped so far in a closet that you can’t see your way out. When ten years of living his expected fast-lane lifestyle lands him engaged to his manipulative Russian supermodel girlfriend, he decides it’s time to call a new play.

Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. His reputation as an excellent coach, hard-nosed business man, and savvy entrepreneur earned him respect in the sometimes catty world of competitive cheerleading. When Jace learns of his ex-lover’s plans to marry, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully-placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?

Double Full by Kindle Alexander  M/M

This is a story that everyone has heard, or it is?   Star quarterback and the cheerleader?  From the first moment Colton Michaels catches a glance at Jace Montgomery he was hooked,  floored at the site of this beautiful site in front of him.  It takes Colt 4 years to make his move on the very much out of the closet Jace,  and he found what was missing in his life, he found he was not living just existing.  But after a perfect 5 days in Hawaii together they are torn apart by the hatred of gays from Colt's own father.  After 10 years Colt has had enough of life and seeks out the only one who has ever mattered to HIM

"I love you, Jace. I always have, and through all my mistakes, I wanted you to know I’ve never said that to anyone else. Only you.” .

“I’ve never gotten over you. Ever. Not one day passed that I didn’t think about you. For me, you’re the love of my life. Wherever you are is exactly where I want to be,”

This book is beautifully written,  great character flow and build up to the reunion of Colt and Jace.  The way Kindle Alexander expresses each of their feeling and emotions is gut wrenching, I found myself with tears on my face numerous times through the whole book, not in anguish but with true FEELING!  I cheered for Jase after Colt left him without a goodbye and I cheered for Colt to win back the love of his life.  This book has a football setting that I loved and we know that being gay in the locker room today is as bad as don't ask don't tell is for the military.  Ms.  Alexander has been placed within the auto buy column for me and i think she could be become one for everyone within the Manlove genre.

I give is book 4.5 cheering stars.

About the Author:

Best Selling, and newly award winning (whooo hooo!) Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next! Happily married with too many children, and dogs, living in the suburbs of Dallas.
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. it never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to meet my writing partner. I would have never gotten through those dark days without her unwavering support and guidance. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. For the first time I used the hand offered. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her. It takes a special person to come stand beside someone at a time like that. I will love her forever. I could go on and on about both of them, but I won’t and now you know a little more About Me.

Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley

Fire Inside: A Chaos Novel by Kristen Ashley

Lanie Heron isn't looking for love-no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club . . .

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She's too polished and too classy for his taste. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can't say no. And he doesn't regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that's ever happened to him-in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

This is an honest review giving to publisher.  Well, KA has really risen the bar for herself,  she sets a standard that her fans expect and usually she hits the mark, but this time????  She has hit the bulls eye!!!  No question, we were introduced to Hop and Lanie within Motorcycle Man from her Dream Man series.  When I heard that KA was giving Lanie and Hop their own book I was a little worried, not about Lanie but the whole hook up.  So Hopper is married and cheated on her with Club slut BeBe, I’m thinking what a Dawg.

But in original KA form, she picks you up, she slams you down, and basically makes you feel like your were in the fight of your life.  After reading the “Fire Inside: A Chaos Novel”  I absolutely ADORE Hopper,  she made him a badass biker, a hired muscle and the sweetest person that she has ever written about (IMP) in any of her novels.

“Already told you that you’re beautiful and under any other circumstances, I would not hesitate to take you up on an offer this sweet.  So you gotta know it’s killin’ me even as you gotta trust me when I say this is not a good idea.”

“But I’m gonna give it to you.  Never had class.  Never had beauty.  I’ll repeat, never….had….class.  I’m not gonna fuck over Cherry, who I care about……it’s aclean, pure beauty the like I’ve never has, I’m gonna respect it like I feel like I gotta and you’re gonna let me.”

“Why, Lanie?  Why the fuck would you pull out all the fuckin’ stops to make a man already drunk on you drunker?”

Yes I freaking LOOOVVEE Hop!

I loved this book, it’s one Kristen Ashleys’ best to date and I rate it 5 stars, well done KA, WELL DONE!
